On the October 13’th registrar Forum, DNS Belgium announced they were considering increasing the pricing for .be domain names. Many other registries are also increasing their pricing and in the current economical climate with high inflation, this was not too unlogical. The price for .be also had not changed since 2016.
When looking at the current financial situation of DNS Belgium, we however felt there wasn’t yet a need for this price increase and DNS Belgium would be able to keep the current pricing and still remain financially stable. Using our representation in the board, we pleaded this case and thankfully were able to convince other board members of our view.
For the time being, a price increase for .be is therefore no longer on the table. Pricing should remain stable for at least a couple more years.
